The stunning newly renovated Diplomat Beach Resort & Spa Hollywood is seeking an organized collaborative Director of Purchasing to join the team. We are looking for someone with a proven purchasing background who is service focused with solid relationship building and problem-solving skills. A strong knowledge of food and beverage along with the ability to work with people at all levels in a union environment will round out our ideal candidate.
The Diplomat Beach Resort & Spa Hollywood a Curio Collection by Hilton boasts 1000 rooms and 200000 square feet of space. It is ideally situated on the golden sand beaches of Hollywood Florida this impressive hotel offers the ideal retreat. Every day at our distinctively unique resort is memorable. Whatever your pleasure there is plenty to do at and around our stunning beach resort. Relax in a poolside cabana by our one-of-a-kind infinity-edge pool featuring a porthole with two waterfalls overflowing into a 240-foot lagoon pool. Play golf just a mile away on an 18-hole championship course featuring 6800 yards on a par 72 for a challenging game or play a set on one of ten tennis courts located there. The resorts luxurious full-service spa showcases scenic ocean views. Adjacent to the spa is a two-story 24-hour fitness center.
A Director of Purchasing plans organizes directs and controls all purchasing functions of the hotel to ensure that the highest quality product is purchased at the best possible price. Controls inventories at appropriate levels. Manages the RFP and bid process. Obtain bids from vendors according to the specifications set by the standards and/or department head. Determines the best possible price for the desired items and place orders for all food and non-food items. Schedules deliveries of items and monitor the quality of products received. Interviews trains supervises counsels schedules and evaluates staff.
What will I be doing
You will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Obtain competitive quotations for hotel requirements and ensure that the best product is sourced and purchased using company nominated suppliers where applicable.
- Ensure locally nominated supplier information is kept current and adhered to.
- Accurately manage the database of active local contracts with suppliers
- Adhere to quality procedures & standards ensuring that all Hilton policies are upheld.
- Work with Finance to draft the annual budget for the Department.
- Ensure that department Team Members are informed and coached to Hilton standards.
- Ensure an accurate comprehensive system for allocating and reconciling purchase orders.
- Manage relationships with hotel suppliers and report on their performance.
- Manage employee relations recruiting training and coaching Team Members as required.
- Lead the operation of the storerooms while upholding company health and safety quality assurance and control procedures.
- Compile accurate stock records maintain proper records of requisition and replenishment transactions.
- Prepare month end and ad hoc reports in an accurate and timely manner.
- Execute tasks/requests as instructed by the Hotel Manager.
- Maintain monitor and execute requisitions in the Beverage Storeroom.
