Job Title:Forms and Records Analyst Supervisor (FRAS) - Olympia)
Location: Thurston County - Olympia WA (hybrid- primarily remote however in-person meetings a few times a month is required.)

Salary:$4771.00 - $6414.00 Monthly

The Opportunity:

This position serves as a Supervisor in the Public Disclosure Unit within the Office of Information Governance leading a team responsible for processing public records requests in compliance with state and federal law. The role supports complex and high-profile disclosures involving media legal legislative and sensitive child welfare matters while ensuring confidential and exempt information is appropriately protected. By coordinating records responses across multiple program areas this position directly supports DCYFs mission to protect children and strengthen families.


Some of what you will get to do:

  • Manage and provide reliable direction to the units teams.
  • Provide mentorship to the team so that they can bring their best selves to work.
  • Set performance expectations for Specialists and hold them accountable including counseling and corrective action.
  • Lead their teams through change management using change management practices.
  • Maintain communication channels throughout the unit to support staff and be available when staff needs assistance.
  • Collaborate in developing procedures for public records requests.
  • Identify changes to process procedures and interpretations based on changes in law rules court decisions and available resources and technology for public disclosure.
  • Searches and collects all records to ensure all requested information and records requested in DCYFs possession are collected in an unredacted and unaltered state
  • Makes determinations on public records responses and clarification.
  • Acts as consultant to management and coworkers across the state in issues of disclosure and public records procedures.
  • Fulfills training requirements of the position and agency mandatory trainings.


Required Qualifications:

Equivalent combination of education and experience totaling seven (7) years in forms and records management public disclosure or other clerical duties associated with records/customer service AND one (1) year of experience must be supervisory.

In addition to those required qualifications our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:

  • Prior experience as a Forms and Records Analyst.
  • Experience with Public Records Act or Discovery.
  • Experience with DCYF or DSHS records.
  • Ability to deliver oral presentations in court meetings and other professional situations.
  • Working knowledge of DCYF policies procedures rules and regulations.
  • Ability to navigate current data management information systems (i.e. Famlink).
