Position Overview

The Costing Executive is tasked with overseeing and analyzing product costing in a manufacturing environment to support accurate financial planning and operational efficiency. This role focuses on maintaining precise Bill of Materials (BOM) producing cost reports and identifying opportunities for improvement. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams to ensure sound cost control and strategic financial insights.

Key Responsibilities


  1. Cost Analysis & Reporting

    • Conduct detailed cost analysis and generate reports that identify variances between standard and actual costs.

    • Gather and evaluate product costing data to support internal controls and financial integrity.

    • Prepare monthly reports on cost consumption for informed business decisions.

  2. Costing Data Management

    • Maintain and update both actual and standard costs ensuring BOMs are accurate and current.

    • Periodically review and revise standard costs to reflect changes in operations and market dynamics.

  3. Variance Investigation

    • Analyze discrepancies between expected and actual costs offering explanations and recommending corrective measures.

    • Present variance findings and cost-saving opportunities to management.

  4. Budgeting & Forecasting Support

    • Contribute to annual budgeting exercises by supplying relevant cost data and analysis.

    • Track real-time costs versus budget forecasts and recommend adjustments for improved financial outcomes.

  5. Process Optimization

    • Partner with departments such as production and procurement to streamline costing procedures and enhance efficiency.

    • Recommend strategic improvements to costing systems and practices based on analytical findings.

  6. Ad-Hoc Analysis

    • Deliver cost-related insights and special reports upon request.

    • Support audits or internal reviews related to cost data and compliance.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in Accounting Finance or a relevant discipline. Professional certifications (e.g. ACCA CPA) are a plus.



  • Experience: Minimum 23 years of experience in cost accounting or financial analysis within a manufacturing setup. Hands-on experience with standard costing and variance analysis preferred.


  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical and numerical abilities with a thorough understanding of cost accounting.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel particularly in data analysis pivot tables and complex formulas.

    • Familiarity with ERP systems and BOM management is advantageous.
