Steel Plant Production Incharge oversees daily manufacturing operations (melting casting rolling) to ensure production targets quality standards and safety regulations are met. Key responsibilities include planning shift operations managing raw material inventory optimizing machinery usage reducing waste and leading production staff to meet cost and efficiency goals.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Execution: Develops and implements daily/monthly production plans ensuring steel melting furnace operation and rolling schedules are met.
Operational Efficiency: Monitors performance metrics (KPIs) to maximize yield improve throughput and minimize downtime.
Quality Control: Ensures first-pass quality meets standards monitoring the material grade and reducing rejections.
Safety & Compliance: Enforces strict safety protocols maintaining a hazard-free work environment on the shop floor.
Maintenance Coordination: Collaborates with maintenance teams to schedule preventive maintenance to avoid unplanned breakdowns.
Team Leadership: Supervises workers and engineers conducting training performance evaluations and maintaining discipline.
Resource Management: Monitors raw materials consumables and inventory levels.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelors degree in Metallurgical Mechanical or Production Engineering.
Experience: 510 years in steel manufacturing specifically with experience in Blast Furnace Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) or Rolling Mills.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of steel-making processes furnace operations and heat treatment.
Leadership Skills: Strong team management communication and crisis management skills.
Safety Awareness: Thorough knowledge of industrial safety standards.
