As an integral member of the Marketing group in the Technology Development & Industry Engagement (TDIE) Department the New Technology Marketing Manager works collaboratively with the departments other groups; Technology Development Regulatory Quality & Operations and Business Development to advance St. Jude Childrens Research Hospitals science and innovation. The positions work focuses primarily on assessing market opportunities analyzing potential industry partners and articulating value propositions of innovative technology that benefits St. Jude patients and furthers the Institutions mission. The person in this position also partners with St. Jude researchers to optimize technology development ensuring the final output meets or exceeds market expectations.
In partnership with the departments cross-functional team the New Technology Marketing Manager is responsible to provide expertise and planning in the following areas:
Customer Insight Development
- Identifyanddefinemarketsegments value propositions targeting and positioning claims development and user needs.
- Collectand analyze essentialdata throughsecondary and primarymarket research.
- Create clear compelling data-driven recommendationsfor product and business development.
- Monitor market trends industry activities and St. Jude research to inform strategic decisions and outreach.
Externaland InternalEngagement:
- Participate ininitiatingnew product development process with St. Jude scientists.
- Collaborate withTDIEteammatesin identifying& engagingpotential partners.
- Interface withexternal vendorsand customers to effectively manage and growTDIEsportfolios whilemaintaininga customer focus throughout all activities.
- Assistin planning and executing events to educate and engage internal partnerse.g.departments inventors.
- Attend whenappropriate industry conferences.
TechnologyStrategy Development & Execution:
- Creatego-to-market strategies to help de-risk technologies.
- Working withTDIEteam in development plans totranslatetechnologies to external partners.
- Manage and update technology category data withindepartment CRMwith pertinent information tofacilitatetechnology and business development.
Performs other related duties as assignedtomeet the goals of the department and institution.
Comply withinstitutional policies and procedures that apply to marketingandnew technologydevelopmentactivities.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
- Bachelorsdegree is.
- Graduatedegree in business or marketing ishighly preferred.
- Seven (7) toten(10) years of experience innew product development (upstream) in the life science/healthcare industry is.
- At least three (3) years of experience in go-to-market (downstream)marketingin the life science/healthcare industry is preferred.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets experience and training licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $94640 - $169520 per year for the role of New Technology Marketing Manager.
