Job Summary

The Collections Specialist will facilitate collection efforts of delinquent accounts ensuring money owed is received promptly.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Monitor assigned accounts to identify outstanding balances and follow up with clients via phone and/or email on outstanding balances
Maintain log of payment promises and pertinent account details schedule follow-up communication with account holder
Record all collection activity
Report on collection activity and accounts receivable status weekly
Escalate accounts that require collection letters to the RailPros Collection Manager
Work with internal teams to resolve billing and credit issues
Contribute to a positive inclusive and respectful workplace culture free from behaviors that undermine morale productivity or organizational values
Uphold the organizations standards of integrity accountability and respect in all duties and interactions
Adhere to all company policies procedures and applicable laws and regulations
Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs

Qualifications

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate with account holders in a courteous manner
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
Basic accounting experience
B2B Collections

Preferred Education and Experience

Two years of related experience in accounts receivable preferred

Additional Qualifications Certifications etc.

NetSuite experience is a plus
