The Nigeria program established in 2018 is headquartered in Minna Niger state. Were currently serving over 300000 unique farmers across the state via our inputs on credit Core program inputs on cash Retail program and have a free tree seedling distribution Agroforestry program. About the Role:

The Field Audit & Case Investigation Officer is responsible for conducting farmer-level audits field verifications and investigations to detect and prevent fraud ensure operational compliance and maintain the integrity of loan repayment and input delivery processes.

This is a field-intensive role that involves collecting evidence analyzing data and supporting the organization in protecting farmer value and program quality.

Responsibilities include:


Business Objectives
  • Maintain program integrity and farmer trust by preventing and detecting fraudulent activities

  • Ensure accurate loan repayment records through passbook audits and transaction verification

  • Verify input delivery and farmer compliance with program requirements

  • Support operational efficiency at minimal cost through targeted field-based investigations

Field Visits & Evidence Collection

  • Conduct field visits to farmer locations to collect evidence for audits and investigations

  • Perform farmer verification by cross-checking farmer identity contact details and presence in program records

  • Verify input delivery by checking actual receipt of seeds fertilizer tools and other inputs against delivery records

  • Conduct physical warehouse and inventory checks to verify stock levels storage conditions and input quantities.

Requirements

For this role specifically you will have:

Knowledge

  • Understanding of fraud detection methods and common red flags in farmer lending and input delivery

  • Knowledge of loan repayment processes passbook systems and payment reconciliation procedures

  • Familiarity with input delivery verification and inventory management

  • Understanding of organizational policies standard operating procedures (SOPs) and compliance requirements

  • Basic knowledge of Excel and digital data collection tools

  • Attention to detail: ability to spot discrepancies inconsistencies and irregularities in records and transactions

  • Data entry and analysis: proficiency with Excel Google Forms and basic data organization and analysis

  • Communication: ability to document findings clearly and communicate professionally with diverse stakeholders

  • Integrity and confidentiality: commitment to handling sensitive information responsibly and ethically

  • Time management and multitasking: ability to manage multiple audits and investigations with competing timelines

  • Flexibility and adaptability: willingness to work in varying field conditions including weekends when necessary

Compensation

  • In line with the job level.

  • One Acre Fund provides employees with a percentage of their basic salaries for housing allowance and child support.

  • Retirement savings: OAF contributes 10% and you contribute 8% of your basic salary to your retirement savings account.

  • One Acre Fund also provides monthly reimbursements to cover work-related costs for transport and airtime.

  • Relocation support is not available for this position.
