Job Summary

The Manager of Loss Prevention Reporting & Analytics acts as the strategic data backbone of the Asset Protection this role you will lead the design development and maintenance of all Business Intelligence (BI) reporting ensuring that data is transformed into actionable insights to reduce shrink and mitigate risk.

You will manage a team of Analysts guiding them through the lifecycle of internal theft identificationfrom raw exception data to fully developed case leads. Additionally you will serve as the primary administrator for all Loss Prevention technical systems including RFID Case Management and Exception Based Reporting (EBR) platforms ensuring system integrity and appropriate user access.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Business Intelligence & Reporting Strategy

  • End-to-End BI Ownership: Own the creation distribution and accuracy of all Loss Prevention reporting. Develop automated dashboards (using tools like Tableau Power BI Looker or MicroStrategy) that track shrink trends safety incidents and operational compliance.

  • Data Storytelling: Translate complex datasets into clear narrative-driven insights for executive leadership highlighting areas of risk and measuring the ROI of LP initiatives.

  • Ad-Hoc Analysis: Field complex data requests from internal or cross-functional partners (Operations HR Legal) to support investigations and strategic decision-making.

2. Team Leadership & Case Development

  • Manage the Analyst Team: Lead coach and develop a team of LP Analysts. Foster a culture of curiosity and precision in data mining.

  • Exception-to-Case Lifecycle: Oversee the workflow of exception reporting. Ensure analysts are effectively reviewing high-risk transactions identifying patterns of dishonesty and converting data anomalies into viable internal investigation leads.

  • Quality Control: Review case leads developed by analysts before they are sent to the field ensuring evidence is solid and documentation is compliant with company standards.

3. Systems Administration & Technology

  • System Ownership: Serve as the primary business owner for critical LP technologies including:

    • RFID Systems: Manage hardware/software health and inventory accuracy reporting.

    • Case & Audit Management Systems: Maintain configuration and workflows for audit questions and case filing standards.

    • Exception Based Reporting (EBR): Manage logic parameters and rule sets to reduce false positives and surface true fraud.

  • Access Management: Maintain rigorous control over user permissions. Conduct regular audits of system access to ensure only authorized personnel have entry to sensitive data.

  • Vendor Relations: Act as the liaison with software vendors for troubleshooting upgrades and feature enhancements.

4. Strategic Partnership & Communication

  • Field Partnership: Collaborate closely with Field Directors and Regional Managers. Act as the bridge between corporate data and field operations ensuring that the leads sent to the field are actionable and clearly understood.

  • Feedback Loop: Establish a feedback mechanism with field teams to determine if the reports and case leads provided are effective adjusting parameters as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university in Data Science Information Technology Business Analytics or equivalent experience.

  • 5 years of experience in Data Analytics Business Intelligence or Loss Prevention Operations with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.

Technical Proficiency

  • Expertise in BI visualization tools (Tableau Power BI Looker etc.).

  • Strong knowledge of Exception Based Reporting systems (e.g. Zebra Prescriptive Analytics Appriss ThinkLP).

  • Technical Leadership: Skilled at managing data systems and guiding technical teams.

  • Communication: Strong written/verbal skills with the ability to translate technical findings into executive-level narratives.

  • Problem-Solving: Adept at diagnosing system issues and refining reporting parameters to maximize data integrity and value.

  • Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally to support investigations and strategic LP initiatives.
