Internal Audit delivers independent reviews and recommendations on global operations evaluates controls safeguards assets ensures reliable financial reporting and identifies opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Data analytics plays a key role in providing assurance to the Executive Leadership Team the Board and Shareholders.
The Senior SAP Digital Audit Lead role is pivotal in advancing Clariants digital transformation. It serves as a subject matter expert in SAP business processes automated controls and system configurations bridging the gap between business auditors and digital audit leads. This hybrid strategic role focuses on system-level assurance control engineering and digital audit delivery enabling continuous technology-driven assurance and shaping the global approach to SAP auditing.
Responsibilities
- Support internal audits through system-level analysis of SAP (Systems Applications and Products in Data Processing) controls translating business risks into technology-enabled audit procedures.
- Provide subject matter expertise on SAP business processes Procure to Pay Order to Cash and Record to Report including system implementation configuration and automated controls.
- Participate in walkthroughs control assessments and discussions with business and IT stakeholders; validate system logic data sources and results.
- Leverage process mining (Signavio) to design audit procedures detect process deviations control bypasses and assess risk-relevant variants.
- Conduct segregation of duties and access risk assessments including SAP Governance Risk and Compliance and support continuous auditing monitoring and improvement of control frameworks.
- Lead SAP-related digital audit initiatives improvement projects and broader IT and digital audits integrating cloud or enterprise platforms.
- Act as technical lead for SAP audit topics collaborating with digital and analytics teams to explore Generative Artificial Intelligence and other emerging technologies for audit automation.
- Contribute to continuous enhancement of Internal Audit methodologies and technology-driven assurance practices.
Requirements
Requirements
- University degree in Audit Accounting Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years ofhands-on SAP functional and implementation experiencein ECC6 and/or S/4HANA GRC or SAP-specialized audit rolesin manufacturing/industrial settings are also suitable.Experience limited to IT audit without strong SAP functional knowledge may not fully align with the requirements of this role.
- Hands-on SAP experience is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong functional expertise in at least one core SAP module (FI CO MM or SD) along with a solid understanding of SAP configurations automated controls SAP tables and transaction codes. Experience working on SAP implementation or project environments is highly valued with clear evidence of deep practical engagement with SAP systems.
- This role is ideal for professionals who bring a blend of SAP functional expertise a strong understanding of key business processes Procure to Pay Order to Cash Record to Report and experience in audit and controls enabling them to work effectively across both business and technology environments.
- Industry experience in manufacturing industrial chemical FMCG automotive or supply chain environments is strongly preferred.
- Candidates with experience primarily in financial services (such as banking insurance or capital markets) may be less aligned with the core focus of this role which is centered on SAP environments within manufacturing and industrial sectors.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex situations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to a wide range of audiences including those without a technical background.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 25%.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Experience working with SAP S/4HANA environments.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform along with an understanding of Identity and Access Management concepts.
- Experience contributing to or managing projects using Agile Scrum or similar delivery frameworks.
- Background or exposure to IT Audit Risk Advisory or SAP Governance Risk and Compliance / Controls.
- Interest in emerging technologies including Generative Artificial Intelligence with an openness to exploring opportunities for AI-enabled audit and automation initiatives.
