RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal Quebec the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position summary
A major focus of the laboratorys work is research on improving services and approaches for tuberculosis diagnosis and management in Nunavik. The incumbent will mainly be working on supporting or leading quantitative data analysis on a project developing infectious disease transmission models for Nunavik supporting data management handling and retrieval for a project evaluating computer aided detection software for analyzing x-rays to detect tuberculosis.
General Duties
Cleans datasets and codes and manages data
Writes scripts runs analyses and visualizes data
Prepares data creates figures for papers posters and more
Supports maintenance of resources needed for data analysis (e.g. server space & access)
Drafts reports and manuscripts and supports activities related to these activities (reference management literature searches formatting manuscripts abstracts posters presentations)
Accomplishes any other related tasks required by the employer
Contributes to organization of team meetings
Acting as liaison between the Information Technology (IT) / Information Security (IS) teams at the McGill University Health Center and the investigators.
MSc or MPH plus formation in data science
Must have demonstrable experience in R python Linux
Experience in AI (machine learning deep learning)
Excellent competencies in oral and written communication in French and in English
Rigorous coding and data analysis approaches
Team player
Detail-oriented resourceful strong problem-solving skills multitasking abilities and organized
Meets deadlines
Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the following as they pertain to Indigenous health: decolonization reconciliation self-determination in health research systemic racism reflexivity.
The following are assets:
Prior experience in tuberculosis research
Data science certification
Knowledge of Python
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Experience in qualitative methods
Certification in TCPS-2 research ethics
Experience in harmonizing integrating and analyzing data from multiple datasets would be an asset.

Status: Temporary part-time : Between 18 to 30 hours per week with flexibility in working part-time if the incumbent is not available full time.
Pay Scale: $27.32-$50.74/h. Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm: 4 to 5 days per week
Work Site: Hybrid: On site at 5252 de Maisonneuve is required for one day per workweek.
