The HR Coordinator plays a key role in supporting a positive employee experience by providing frontline union guidance assisting staff and managers with policy interpretation and maintaining strong awareness of workplace culture and engagement. This role leads new hire orientations supports recruitment and onboarding for unionized staff and contributes to the development and rollout of HR programs and initiatives.
The salary range for this position is $65000 CAD - $75000 CAD plus additional benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
Union Staff Relations & HR Advisory Support
- Maintain a strong pulse on employee engagement satisfaction and workplace culture proactively identifying risks and opportunities.
- Support employees by managing the general HR inbox and address HRrelated questions concerns and workplace issues with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Champion and promote OTGs values diversity equity and inclusion initiatives modeling expected behaviors across all interactions.
Talent Management Onboarding & HR Program Support
- Lead schedule and facilitate new hire orientations ensuring a welcoming consistent and highquality employee experience across sites.
- Onboarding new employees into Bamboo HR HRIS while demonstrating tact and accuracy with inputting employment information including start date pay etc.
- Assist the Talent Acquisition team with recruitment activities candidate coordination and ensuring a seamless onboarding process.
- Support the development implementation and communication of new HR policies programs and departmental initiatives in collaboration with the HR Manager.
- Coordinate and occasionally lead adhoc HR projects utilizing discretion strong organizational skills and advanced problemsolving capabilities.
- Assist the HR department with the delivery of a variety of company-wide HR programs and procedures ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
HR Operations Records Management & Compliance
- Administer and maintain accurate employee records including compensation data performance documentation and personnel files.
- Perform routine filing scanning archiving and document management to support compliance with record retention requirements.
- Update HR and leadership teams with key workforce information including headcount changes new hires terminations assets and other relevant metrics.
Data Reporting Analytics & HR Administration
- Prepare analyze and present HR metrics dashboards and workforce analytics to the HR Manager and leadership teams to support datainformed decisionmaking.
- Coordinate meetings events and departmental activities supporting efficient operations within the HR function.
- Perform other HRrelated administrative duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the efficient functioning of the department.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field.
- Working towards or completed CHRP designation is an asset.
- 1-3 years of HR experience in a coordinator or advisory capacity.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of HR best practices employment legislation and regulatory compliance with the ability to apply this knowledge in complex workplace scenarios.
- Experienced in developing analyzing and presenting HR reports metrics and workforce analytics to support datadriven decisionmaking.
- Capable of working independently and managing multiple complex priorities particularly within unionized construction or large projectbased environments.
- Clientfocused and serviceoriented with a proven ability to build strong working relationships and provide leadership to staff at all levels of the organization.
- Exercises sound judgment discretion and diplomacy especially when handling sensitive information or navigating competing demands.
- Possesses strong communication and presentation skills demonstrating clarity confidence and professionalism in all interactions.
- Selfmotivated with a strong work ethic thriving in fastpaced dynamic environments with frequent change.
- Adaptable and comfortable working within a large corporate structure adjusting quickly to new systems expectations and organizational priorities.
