Overview
The project manager is responsible for leading cross-functional initiatives/projects from inception to completion which may include launching new products business lines and services as well as enhancements and improvements in existing offerings.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in managing complex projects completing projects on time and within budget and strong stakeholder management skills ensuring strong governance vendor coordination risk management and clear communication while maintaining alignment with standards security controls and regulatory requirements.
Geographical location for this position is Tacoma WA. Depending on experience other Heritage Bank locations in Washington may be considered.
Base Salary Range
Project Manager - $83370.00 - $104213.00 - $125055.00 annually
Project Manager Senior - $91707.00 $114639.00 $137561.00 annually
Depending on experience Project Manager or Project Manager Senior may be considered.
The Role at a Glance:
- Defines and manages project scope goals risk mitigation plans and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develops full-scale project plans and associated communication documents for a variety of purposes and audiences. Develop and maintain other project documents required by the department.
- Interfaces with business lines finance HR application developers IT technical staff and other stakeholders to ensure project timelines are achieved.
- Assist Business Owners with testing project requirements.
- Liaisons with project stakeholders and senior management on an ongoing basis.
- Estimates resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
- Tracks project actuals and validate against estimates. Request budget changes as needed.
- Determines and assesses the need for additional staff; requests resources as needed.
- Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team.
- Identifies and manage project dependencies and critical path.
- Liaisons and works with external vendors to develop joint project plans and provide oversight and direction to external resources to ensure goals and deliverables are achieved in a timely manner.
- Provides project coordination and support to the department ranging from developing and managing meeting schedules providing meeting support facilitating project communication and coordination and troubleshooting problems.
Core Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree from accredited university in business technical or equivalent field required.
- PM - 2 years Recent project management experience which includes working knowledge of financial information technology (IT) information systems (IS) and operational group requirements for all banking business lines including credit deposit and asset management key functions in a community bank and/or financial services industry required.
- PM Senior - 5 years recent relevant project management experience which includes in-depth working knowledge of financial information technology (IT) information systems (IS) and operational requirements for all banking business lines and key functions for both bank and asset management platforms in a community bank and financial services industry environment required. Experience with Waterfall methodology as well as exposure to Agile methodology.
- Ability to drive projects and hold multiple parties accountable for achieving deliverables and keeping the project on the critical path.
- Excellent communication/ interpersonal skills combined with ability to communicate effectively clearly and persuasively in a variety of settings formats and audiences across business lines at all levels.
- Ability to provide an exceptional level of quality service and respond to customers needs questions and concerns in an accurate effective and timely manner to solicit feedback to improve service.
- Ability to lead business and Information Technology (IT) projects.
- Assertiveness and planning skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative.
- Demonstrated ability make decisions or escalate as appropriate under pressure of time constraints.
- Strong research time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet concurrent deadlines.
- Strong technical problem-solving and analytical reasoning skills to understand end users requirements and transform into operational application and technical alternatives.
- Working knowledge of related statutory banking and compliance regulations operational policies and procedures and the Banks products and services of assigned business unit i.e. deposits loans etc.
- Working knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management.
- Unquestionable integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information required.
- Proficient use and understanding of MS Office products (Word Excel Outlook Power Point Project); and working knowledge of financial industry core processing systems with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) - PMI upon hire preferred.
Working Environment/Conditions:
- Climate controlled office environment.
- Work involves being able to concentrate on the matter at hand under sometimes distracting work conditions and frequent employee and customer contacts and interruptions during the day.
- Work requires regular attendance punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon schedule(s) with willingness to work a flexible and/or rotating schedule and/or extended hours as needed.
Physical Demands/Effort:
- Work may involve the constant use of computer screens reading of reports and sitting throughout the day.
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard multi-line telephone photocopier scanner and facsimile which often requires dexterity of hands and fingers with repetitive wrist and hand motion.
- Typically sitting at a desk or table; intermittently standing stooping bending at the waist walking climbing kneeling or crouching to file materials.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs. (files boxes etc.)

The base salary range represents Heritage Banks current salary range for the position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to qualifications experience and job performance. The range listed is just one component of Heritage Banks total compensation package for full-time and part-time employees. Depending on position other total compensation rewards may include monthly quarterly or annual incentive and/or bonuses.
