Were looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as an Application Developer responsible for designing building modernizing and maintaining essential NYC internal and external web applications. These applications serve more than 500000 users annually and your work will be pivotal in ensuring their continued success and modernization.

About our team:
The DevOps team at OTI primarily builds public-facing and internal web applications to support City initiatives and operations. We take pride in utilizing modern technologies for most of our application portfolio including AWS containerization and Azure DevOps. As an Application Developer you will play a key role in maintaining enhancing and modernizing various applications ensuring they remain up to date and delivering an excellent user experience. Your expertise will be critical in driving innovation and resolving technical challenges ensuring the continued success of these vital services for New York City.

Responsibilities will include:
-Design develop and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications for public-facing and internal NYC platforms.
-Develop and maintain web applications RESTful services and microservices using Spring Boot.
-Containerize deploy and manage applications in cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure).
-Collaborate with product owners project managers and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions on time.
-Ensure adherence to NYC security and compliance standards.
-Lead code and design reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers.
-Participate in all phases of the SDLC including requirements design coding testing and deployment.
-Ensure code quality and maintainability.
-Maintain detailed technical documentation.
-Handle special projects and initiatives as assigned.

HOURS/SHIFT
Day - Due to the necessary technical duties of this position in a 24/7 operation candidate may be required to work various shifts such as weekends and/or nights/evenings.

Qualifications :

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science engineering human computer interaction interactive media digital and graphics design data visualization communication or a related field and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology process methodology and/or domain; or

2. An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science engineering human computer interaction interactive media digital and graphics design data visualization communication or a related field and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology process methodology and/or domain; or

3. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology process methodology and/or domain; or

4. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 2 or 3 above.
