What we are looking for:

NRC is seeking an organised and experienced Strategy and Operations Adviser to play a central role in supporting the effective management of day-to-day operations and administration of the Operational Support and Strategy (OSS) department and its management team.

You will be part of the OSS department which brings together Global Finance ICT Supply Chain and Strategy Planning and Knowledge Management. OSS shapes organisational strategy provides governance and assurance delivers shared services and develops practical solutions to organisational and operational challenges - ensuring NRC can deliver effectively on its mission.

You will play a key coordinating role within the OSS department and across the wider organisation enabling and supporting the work of the Deputy Secretary General and the OSS management team. You bring structure and clarity to complex processes ensuring that planning strategy development budgeting and administrative workflows are well organised aligned and effectively delivered.

Working closely with senior stakeholders you help optimise ways of working and ensure that operational activities consistently support strategic objectives. You are not only a trusted management support partner but also a hands-on contributor with a strong project focus. You actively drive and support organisational development initiatives including change management efforts internal communication and continuous improvements to how NRC works.

This role is ideal for you if you are comfortable navigating complexity coordinating across teams and moving initiatives forward with purpose. You are energized by working with people managing competing priorities and creating structure in dynamic environments.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for support to the OSS management team Global Finance management team the Global Support Advisory Group and the department including managing day-to-day operations and administration tracking follow-up ofdecisionsand ensuring efficient ways of working.

  • Facilitate and drive the annual planningstrategyand budgeting processes in the department in collaboration withother internal stakeholders. This includesdevelopment of the balanced scorecard andworkplans andmonitor implementation and report against these.

  • Responsible for internal communication both within the department and from the department to the rest of the organisation.

  • Lead and/or contribute to specific initiatives projects or working groups as delegated by the department director.

  • Coordinate contributions from the department and quality assure reports and documentation for the Senior Management Group (SMG) and the Board.

What you will bring:

To excel in this role candidates shouldpossessthe following qualifications and skills:

  • University degree or equivalent qualification preferably at masters degree level

  • Minimum five years of relevant experience within the humanitarian sector or equivalent

  • Fluency in English both written and verbal. Working knowledge of Norwegian is preferable.

  • Strong ability to drive processes and push to keep timelines and plans

  • Strong facilitation and organisational skills with the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders at different levels of the organisation incl. facilitating Board and senior management work.

  • Demonstrated high quality communication skills incl. writing and editing

  • Excellent administrative skills incl. management support strategy development planning and cross-departmental coordination

  • Documented experience and results related to the positions responsibilities
