Role: AssociateRehabilitationCounselor
Term:Part-time (16) hours
Location: Onsite in Dunkirk NY (Various sites).
Travel:Candidates must have clean valid license for company and/or personal vehicle use.
Work Schedule:
Thursday 3pm-7pm
Friday 1pm-5pm
Saturday 9am-5pm
*Candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check through the NYS Office of Mental Health.
JOBFUNCTION:
This individual will provide case management rehabilitative and restorative services to residents within our Treatment Apartment program. Counselors are responsible for teaching coaching and monitoring residents living activities in an apartment setting in order to develop skills abilities and experience that will facilitate greater opportunity for the resident to live independently..
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Experience and Knowledge
- Bachelors degree in human services-related field; or an associate degree in human service-related field and three years experience in human services; or a high school diploma and five years experience in human services.
- Must possess a working knowledge of current issues and concerns of people with mental illness rehabilitative training methods and community resources.
OTHER DUTIES/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Assist with medication management
- Help maintain cleanliness of the residence
- Compassion sensitivity and understanding for individuals suffering from mental illness and substance abuse.
- Professional demeanor
- Ability to work independently and self-motivated.
- Be able to travel to and among various facilities that are multileveled with stairs only.
- Have a valid drivers license and a cleandriving record.
- May be required to use personal vehicle for programmatic purposes. (Mileage reimbursed for site-to-site travel).
- Criminal Background check approved by NYS Office of Mental Health
