Job Overview

The Warehousing Operations Specialist works in close partnership with Materials Management and Logistics to assess design and recommend an optimal warehousing network and operating model for the client. The role balances service levels cost capacity and risk across the supply chain while driving continuous improvement. The Specialist leads strategic initiatives from analysis through implementation ensuring clear measurable business value and sustainable operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an approved strategy to optimize warehousing operations across the clients network.
• Evaluate alternative warehousing and operating models and conduct detailed financial and operational analyses to determine the most effective solutions.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities assess associated risks and develop practical mitigation plans.
• Lead initiatives from concept to completion ensuring delivery on time within scope and within budget.
• Design and optimize network configuration and location strategy.
• Build robust financial and operational business cases to support decision-making.
• Create implementation roadmaps and change management plans to support successful execution.
• Establish and manage governance structures while engaging and aligning key stakeholders.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering Business Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain management with a strong focus on warehousing and/or logistics.
• Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a university degree.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound commercial and operational judgment.
• Demonstrated project management experience including managing multiple priorities and tight timelines.
• Excellent written verbal and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across functions and teams.
• Enrollment in or completion of a professional designation such as SCMP CPSM or equivalent is preferred.
• PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience with utility-related operations is considered an asset.
