Job Summary
The Insurance/Referral Coordinator is responsible for verifying patient insurance benefits obtaining prior authorizations and HMO referrals and ensuring all services are properly approved before scheduled visits. This role plays a key part in preventing delays in patient care and maintaining smooth office operations.
Pay Rate: $16.00 - $18.00 hourly DOE
ScheduleMonday - Thursday from 7:55am - 5:00pm Friday from 7:55am - 12:00pm
Location: Near Medical Area
Key Responsibilities:
Verify insurance benefits including co-pays co-insurance and deductibles
Obtain and track prior authorizations and HMO referrals
Contact patients or responsible parties to review benefits and provide cost estimates for testing visits
Work closely with the insurance/referral team to ensure planned visits are authorized and not missed
Enter and update insurance information accurately in the practice management system
Communicate with insurance companies provider offices and patients to resolve coverage issues
Qualifications:
Previous medical office or insurance verification experience preferred
Knowledge of HMO PPO referrals and prior authorizations
Must be able to pass background and drug screen.
Strong communication and organizational skills
Attention to detail and ability to multitask
