Job Summary

Summary

Position Summary
Performs skilled electrical duties of installing repairing and maintaining all electrical service lighting and related equipment throughout the facility to provide a safe environment following manufacturers guidelines and standards established by the department and Denver City and County codes and NEC.

Essential Duties

  1. Plans and schedules the daily work for the electrical shop including leads the work of co-workers by providing effective communication direction guidance and resources as appropriate.
  2. Lays out and installs new circuits new service for motors lights outlets HVAC equipment and other plant equipment. Must be able to read all types of electrical drawings.
  3. Troubleshoots maintains and locates defects to all electrical equipment transfer switches for the emergency generators lighting and controls on normal power as well as emergency power (this includes maintaining UV lighting in TB patient rooms) and ensures proper documentation and records are filled out and retained.
  4. Troubleshoots repairs maintains and retrofits electrical systems from low voltage up to 600 Volts. Must be able to use all types of electrical testing apparatuses.
  5. Maintains all Fire Alarm equipment and conducts quarterly testing for Life Safety Codes. Ensures proper documentation and records are filled out and retained.
  6. Responsible for all cable pulling for phones and computers. Maintains drawings and complete documentation.
  7. Estimates materials time and labor for electrical services. Orders materials and maintains supplies to ensure sufficient stock of needed electrical materials and adequate repair parts are kept on hand.
  8. Responsible for the electrical side of the card access system including installing and troubling shooting all related components.
  9. Responsible for filling out work orders for projects assigned to this position with all necessary information and especially materials used.

Other Duties

  1. Participates in capital construction projects with other trades and contractors.
  2. Part of the card access team for making and deleting new photo ID badges.
  3. Part of the snow removal team cleaning the sidewalks leading into our buildings and using a snow shovel during snow storms.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Work Experience: A minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible electrical experience required. Journeyman level electrical skills and working knowledge of the NEC and local building codes.
  3. Special Training Certification or Licensure: Colorado State Journeyman Electrical License required. Current Colorado drivers license required.

Salary Range: $36.66 - $48.48
