In this position...
The Senior Manager of Closures will be responsible for concept development and detailed design of body structures closures exteriors and chassis systems through multiple stages of development. You will build a team to conceptualize design engineer develop and support the launch of components and systems that meet vehicle cost and performance goals.



Responsibilities

What youll do...

Create and develop structural system requirements and specifications while developing geometry and the engineering execution in conjunction with design supply chain and other core teams.

Create vehicle-aligned component and system targets for function cost weight and investment.

Develop 3D geometry and innovative designs concepts that solve challenging crash load cases while balancing construction material and manufacturing methods

Optimize the concepts and designs with analytical and physical assessments ensuring conformation to federal regulations governing assigned systems.

Deliver world-class craftsmanship and fit/finish through the proper implementation of GD&T.

Develop study and implement novel construction techniques and materials then drive them to production feasibility

Enable effective communications with Studio Packaging Advanced Engineering Manufacturing and Supplier activities to deliver optimal design solutions

Support presentations of concepts and status to senior management and internally to Company personnel



Qualifications

Youll have...

Bachelors or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

8 Years leading a hardware engineering team delivering structural components or systems

5 years of experience designing developing and releasing one or more vehicle subsystem and adjoining parts including component manufacturing and assembly processes

5 years of experience using 3D CAD software collaboratively (NX Catia 3DX etc.)

3 years of experience in a production release process in collaboration with manufacturing teams

3 years of experience in a factory setting launching a new product

5 years of experience applying and using GD&T

Even better you may have...
Masters Degree in Engineering

High level of expertise and proficiency with Catia Enovia or similar tools including drawing and modelling practices and methodologies

Hands-on experience building and launching automotive products

Experience with Microsoft Office applications and other information management tools

Strong written and verbal communication skills

A degree in Mechanical Engineering Certificate of Accomplishment from a recognized Design educational institution or equivalent skills and expertise

Experience using Confluence Jira Asana or other project management tools

An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team

A system approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement

This position is a leadership level 5 and ranges from $80.
