Job Summary

This role has responsibility for the delivery of projects and contributes to the growth and success of the wider Energy and Environment business.  We have a strong pipeline of work in the ANZ region and are looking for an experienced Transmission Lines engineer to lead exciting projects in the transmission & distribution space and build our pipeline through key client relationships.  As part of your role you will have the opportunity to input into the strategic direction of our group.  We have a very established and long-standing team who are passionate about what they do.  This is a great opportunity to be part of this well-knit and collaborative team and continue to drive the technical excellence that we have become known for by our clients. The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Design management / lead multi-disciplinary projects in the Transmission space for New Zealand and Australian clients.
  • Drive delivery and technical excellence and hold the project team responsible for delivering on the AECOM client promise.
  • Nurture and develop less experienced engineers.  Review designs prepared by others.
  • Leverage our national T&D team and offshore design centres for project delivery.
  • Maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Strengthen relationships with key clients
  • Provide input into T&D group strategy sessions and work with the wider team to enable the achievement of our strategy.
  • Innovation seek out different ways to do things that continually improves our efficiency and how we meet the needs of our clients.
  • Prepare / lead proposals and participate in project go/no go decisions.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors in Electrical engineering Mechanical Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • 8 years hands on experience Transmission Line designs from feasibility level through to detailed design at both Transmission and Sub-Transmission voltages.
  • Previous design manager / lead engineer experience preferable in NZ.
  • Proven experience mentoring and developing others.
  • Proven ability to problem solve and resolve complex issues.
  • Strong communication with the ability to work with hybrid teams in multiple locations.
  • Proven relationship with key clients.
  • Site based / construction support experience is an advantage.
