We are seeking an innovative and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen and elevate the dining experience at Giuseppes Cantina a fresh Italian-inspired restaurant with a modern take on classic fare.
As Head Chef you will be a key driver of culinary creativity and operational excellence. Reporting to the General Manager you will oversee all kitchen functions ensuring quality consistency and efficiency in every service. You will have the opportunity to shape the menu champion authentic Italian flavours and introduce imaginative dishes that delight local guests and travellers alike.
Your leadership will be pivotal in building a positive high-performance culture within a small but passionate team inspiring professional growth fostering collaboration and maintaining a kitchen environment that delivers excellence every day.
What youll do:
- Lead kitchen operations to deliver consistently high-quality food and service.
- Innovate and refine menu offerings with a focus on Italian techniques and fresh ingredients.
- Manage inventory cost control food safety and compliance standards.
- Coach mentor and develop team members to perform at their best.
- Work closely with the General Manager on strategic initiatives and guest-centric dining experiences.
Qualifications :
- A confident modern and creative cooking style with a strong emphasis on quality and presentation
- A strong understanding of food cost and control
- Experience in month end stock take
- A flexible Heartist approach in adapting to guest requests
- Great communication skills and ability to develop a motivated cohesive brigade
- Good computer spreadsheet reporting and email skills
- Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure
- Previous exposure to living in a regional location
