We are currently seeking a Part-Time Commis Chef to join our professional and energetic kitchen team. This role offers the opportunity to work across a dynamic hotel food and beverage operation including breakfast lunch and dinner services while helping to create memorable dining experiences for our guests.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare and present menu items with creativity and consistency while adhering to cost controls
- Maintain strict stock rotation procedures and minimise waste
- Ensure all kitchen and work areas are kept clean organised and hygienic
- Assist with dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning as required
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained cleaned and serviced reporting any issues to the Head Chef
Qualifications :
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A relevant trade qualification and experience in a similar role ideally within a hotel or restaurant environment (dinner service experience essential)
- Strong technical cooking skills across a range of styles and techniques
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A commitment to maintaining high and consistent standards
- A sound understanding of food safety practices and HACCP principles
- Valid Australian working rights
- The flexibility to work across a rotating roster including early mornings evenings weekend & public holidays
