The University of Oregon Intercollegiate Athletic Departments primary purpose is to provide a unique opportunity for student-athletes to be developed tested and encouraged to reach their maximum potential in every aspect of their lives. The department has approximately 290 administrative & classified employees and hosts over 600000 spectators annually and represents the University of Oregon in athletic competition with other universities & colleges.
Reporting to the Director of Football Operations the Assistant Director of Football has managerial responsibility and accountability for administering and coordinating one or more of the football departments programs. It is also responsible for a variety of student-athlete-related doing so the incumbent exercises independent professional judgment beyond proscribed routine policies and procedures to carry out the athletic department and football programs mission statement to recruit and retain student-athletes for the University of Oregon. The independent decisions made by the incumbent commit this program to a specific course of action and carry fiduciary responsibility and accountability for managing at least one unit program including recruiting external relations student-athlete development and/or operations. This position is part of a management team that determines the success of both the football programs on-field success and the student-athletes success as an individual. The person hired into this position will be responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program including adherence to all department policies and procedures as well as the rules and regulations of the university the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.
Bachelors degree.
Four years of working or playing experience in a collegiate or professional football program.
Two years of working experience in the recruitment process for Division I football student-athletes.
Knowledge and experience with NCAA compliance rules and regulations.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff coaches student-athletes athletic department constituents and athletic department personnel.
Professional presentation and demeanor.
Four years of working experience with a collegiate Power Four or professional football program.
Four years of working experience in the recruitment process for Division I Power Four football student-athletes.
Masters degree.
