Job Summary

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing manufacturing and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

What Youll Do:

As a Ground Support Equipment Technician you will be in a hands-on role ensuring the reliability and readiness of all equipment supporting our flight test operations. You will maintain a wide array of GSE ranging from high-voltage charging systems to heavy machinery ensuring a safe and professional environment that meets FAA and company standards.

  • Be responsible for servicing and maintaining all Flight Test Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
  • Carry out daily weekly and monthly GSE maintenance schedules ensuring all equipment is functional clean and organized
  • Support Archers scheduled vendor services such as fuel delivery and site services ensuring no gaps in coverage
  • Ensures a clean organized and professional workplace up to 5S standards FOD prevention and tool control
  • Ensure that products parts supplies and consumables for GSE are adequately stocked to meet Flight Testing operations
  • Provide plans and status updates back to the Airfield Ground Operations Manager on assigned projects
  • Provide input on the design and fabrication of GSE & fixturing from a perspective of hands-on repairability and maintainability
  • Maintain charge & ground handling equipment for the aircraft ensuring they are ready for daily flight test operations
  • Follow Flight Test safety policies and procedures for ground operations as a part of Archers Safety Management System
  • Maintain GSE maintenance records required by FAA regulations manufacturer recommendations and company policy
  • Work from a variety of technical materials such as blueprints schematics handbooks drawings and work orders providing feedback as required
  • Facilities repair/reporting and follow up on corrections
  • Meet scheduled timelines and in some cases aggressive deadlines to meet project milestones
  • Assume any duties as delegated by the Airfield Ground Operations Manager

What You Need:

  • 5 years of experience with Ground Support Equipment (GSE) & heavy equipment
  • Previous experience in the aerospace industry
  • Driving of aircraft tugs carts and lifts within an airport environment
  • Advanced troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Experience working with high voltage systems
  • Knowledge of wiring techniques and best practices (crimping routing securing etc.)
  • A collaborative attitude excellent written and verbal communication skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Work with all levels of personnel and effectively interact with technicians and engineers
  • Excellent planning and organization skills including the ability to adapt and overcome issues
  • Experience operating and maintaining specific machines (Battery systems Service trucks Forklifts Generators etc.)
  • The ability to push/pull lift up to 75lbs at times
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement activities to help promote a professional shop environment
  • Working Hours: Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
  • Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with electric aircraft/eVTOL
  • Class A license
  • Multi-process welding
  • Experience working with CAD NX Confluence JIRA
