The position

As aLead Backend Engineerat agap2 you take on the challenge within an international environment with a local focus. Key Responsibilities

AsLead Backend Engineer (Security) you serve as the technical co-leader of the team. You shape the technical direction guide day-to-day engineering execution and ensure that every solution is secure scalable and aligned with architectural and security principles. Your work directly protects customer trust while enabling the business to operate safely at scale. You will guide the technical direction of the team and uphold high engineering standards from discovery through delivery:

• Providing technical leadership mentorship and coaching to engineers.
• Designing building and delivering secure scalable authentication services to production.
• Identifying technical risks constraints and dependencies early to enable predictable delivery.
• Ensuring designs incorporate security privacy and complianceby default.
• Facilitating architectural discussions and contributing to architectural decision records (ADRs).
• Owning long-term system health and reducing technical debt while improving operational quality.
• Remaining hands-on in complex high-impact problem areas.
• Translating technical trade-offs into clear insights that shape product strategy and roadmap priorities.

What you bring to the position

• Senior or lead-level experience working on high-risk backend systems(Java/Kotlin).
• A strong understanding of secure system design reliability and regulated environments.
• The ability to lead technical delivery and influence decisions without formal authority.
• Experience designing building and operating distributed systems in production.
• Clear communication skills across engineering product security and compliance functions.
• A pragmatic mindset that balances technical excellence with meaningful business outcomes.
