Job Summary
Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented fiber technician to install test maintain and troubleshoot fiber optic networks. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship works well independently and as part of a team and follows safety and industry standards.
Position Title:Electrical Supervisor
Location: Mosaic/Nutrien
Closing: Position will remain open until a successful candidate is hired
Key Responsibilities
- Install terminate and test fiber optic cables (aerial and/or underground)
- Perform splicing connectorization and fiber testing (OTDR power meter light source)
- Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic network issues
- Read and interpret fiber prints schematics and work orders
- Document work completed test results and materials used
- Maintain tools equipment and work vehicles
- Follow safety procedures and company standards at all times
- Communicate effectively with supervisors team members and customers
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience working with fiber optic cable installation and splicing
- Ability to use fiber testing equipment
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
- Comfortable working at heights in confined spaces and on ladders
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to work day and night shifts
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyperson Electrician
- Industry certifications (e.g. FOA ETA manufacturer certifications)
- Experience with OTDR testing and troubleshooting
- Experience with underground fiber
- Knowledge of local safety regulations and standards
- Experience with giber patching
- Previous telecommunications or utility experience
