The Director of Operations is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the end-to-end supply chain operations primarily warehouse management logistics inventory and distribution functions with oversight on purchasing and sourcing.
Were looking for a hands-on Director of Operations who can drive execution tighten processes and lead with accountability.
This is not a VP-lite or slide-deck roleyoull be in the details and at the table. Success in the first year looks like measurable improvements in efficiency clarity and operational ownership.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Participates in the hiring and training of departmental managers.
- Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of departmental managers.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
What You Will Do:
- Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics guidelines and standards by which the companys efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
- Reviews analyzes and evaluates business procedures.
- Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
- Ensures work environments are adequate and safe.
- Oversees purchasing warehouse inventory and 3PL operators ensuring each is reaching goals set by departmental and company leadership.
- Plans directs controls implements evaluates monitors and forecasts budgets and cost of sales in each division to achieve financial objectives.
- Communicates and explains new directives policies or procedures to managers; for major changes meets with entire operations staff to explain changes answer questions and maintain morale.
- Improves customer service and satisfaction through policy and procedural changes.
- Leads coordination and integration of efforts among operations engineering technology and customer service divisions to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.
- Projects a positive image of the organization to employees customers industry and community.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Do You Have:
- Bachelors degree in supply chain management Operations Management Business Administration or a related field; OR equivalent work experience.
- 5-10 years experience in operations management with experience in warehouse operations logistics and distribution within a high growth environment.
- Ability to work in a highly entrepreneurial environment
- Ability to understand processes and workflows and help translate them to a digital workflow within IT Business Systems
- Proven experience in managing large-scale warehouse operations and working with third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles logistics strategies and inventory management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop cross-functional teams with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Effective troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Project and time management skills.
- Ability to work and achieve results with minimal direction
- Experience with Salesforce and/or Netsuite is a plus!
