We are seeking an experienced Gastrointestinal (GI) Technical Assistant to support safe high-quality patient care and efficient operations within Endoscopy and Surgical Services. This role assists physicians and nursing staff during diagnostic and surgical procedures while ensuring proper room setup equipment readiness patient support and compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Assist physicians during endoscopic and surgical diagnostic procedures
Prepare procedure rooms set up equipment and ensure required supplies are available
Obtain vital signs position patients appropriately and assist with patient recovery as needed
Clean disinfect and maintain endoscopy and surgical equipment per established protocols
Maintain required environmental and equipment monitoring documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
Coordinate with Sterile Processing regarding specialty instruments and added procedures
Assist with inventory management of specialized medical and surgical supplies
Support operating room turnover patient transport and pre-procedure preparation
Perform shave preps per physician orders and established preparation guidelines
Assist with orientation of new staff under RN direction
Participate in unit meetings mandatory training and on-call rotations
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English
One of the following experience requirements:
Minimum 2 years of recent experience (within the past 5 years) as a Nursing Assistant II CNA Endoscopy Technician or similar role
OR
Minimum 1 year of recent experience (within the past 5 years) in direct patient care within Perioperative Services
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control principles
Experience in Endoscopy Operating Room or Surgical Services
