Transportation Co-op Student (4-Month)

Are you interested in gaining valuable experience working in a local government setting If so then apply your talents and knowledge with the City of Abbotsfords 4-month Transportation Co-op position starting May 2026. This position offers an hourly wage of $20.68$26.34 dependent on your year of study. The Transportation Co-op supports engineering staff and has the potential to take on additional responsibilities depending on your interests and skillset. The position will be both in the office and out in the field so if you are goal-oriented accountable and have a strong desire to contribute we want to hear from you!


This position will work from Abbotsford City Hall located at 32315 South Fraser Way.

What youll Do:

  • Review lists of pedestrian crossing requests and do site visits to the locations
  • Analyze crash and pedestrian data
  • Conduct traffic counts at pedestrian crossing locations
  • Undertake railway crossing condition assessments
  • Visit locations in the City to collect information and data

Required Skills Knowledge and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a Co-operative education program at a post-secondary institution and returning to school full-time in the subsequent academic year
  • Basic knowledge of pedestrian and cycling best practices
  • Ability to write and compile technical reports
  • Experience working with the public
  • Intermediate experience with MS Office
  • Basic knowledge of GIS applications
  • Ability to use AutoCAD or similar
