SCM Senior Executive Liaisoning & Budgeting : Finance & Operations.
Department: Supply Chain Management
Reporting To: SCM Manager / Head SCM / Finance Controller (Dotted Line)
Role Objective: The SCM Executive - Liaisoning will act as a financial and operational control partner for
supply chain operations across manufacturing packhouses and sales warehouses. The role is
responsible for ensuring financial accuracy cost control trade closure inventory integrity
and operational compliance through strong coordination with finance sales logistics and
warehouse teams leveraging SAP S/4HANA and WMS systems.
Key Responsibilities
A. Finance-Heavy Responsibilities
1. Billing Control & Financial Reconciliation
Own end-to-end billing accuracy and financial reconciliation across 8 sales
warehouses.
Reconcile sales dispatch billing POD returns and credit notes between SAP
S/4HANA WMS and books of accounts.
Ensure billing is aligned with approved price lists schemes and commercial terms.
Identify revenue leakage over/under billing and accounting mismatches; drive timely
closures.
Support month-end and year-end financial closures related to SCM transactions.
2. Trade Closure & POD Accounting
Ensure timely POD-based trade closure for all dispatches.
Monitor open PODs follow up with logistics and sales teams and ensure closure within
defined timelines.
Validate freight handling and secondary transportation charges against PODs and
contracts.
Ensure proper accounting of claims shortages damages and returns.
3. Internal Audit & Financial Controls
Support and coordinate internal audits related to inventory billing trade transactions and
logistics costs.
Ensure compliance with internal controls SOPs and audit requirements.
Prepare reconciliation statements audit schedules and supporting documentation.
Identify control gaps process inefficiencies and recommend corrective and preventive
actions.
4. SCM Costing & Budgetary Control
Track analyze and control SCM costs including logistics warehousing packaging
handling and distribution.
Support SCM budgeting and forecasting processes.
Perform variance analysis (Actual vs Budget) and provide actionable insights.
Assist finance in pricing and margin analysis by validating SCM cost components
B. Operations-Heavy Responsibilities
1. Supply Chain & Warehouse Operations Coordination
Coordinate SCM operations across 1 manufacturing unit 4 packhouses and 8 sales
warehouses.
Ensure accurate and timely flow of operational data between warehouses logistics sales
and finance teams.
Monitor dispatches receipts returns and stock movements to ensure operational
continuity.
Act as a liaison between ground operations and corporate SCM/finance teams.
2. Inventory Management & Operational Controls
Ensure inventory integrity across all locations through regular system and physical
reconciliations.
Monitor stock aging slow/non-moving inventory shortages and excesses.
Support cycle counts and physical stock audits.
Ensure inventory transactions are correctly captured in SAP S/4HANA and WMS.
3. System & Process Discipline
Ensure transactional accuracy and discipline in SAP S/4HANA (SD/MM touchpoints).
Coordinate with warehouse teams using WMS applications for correct stock and dispatch
reporting.
Ensure master data accuracy related to pricing customers freight and warehouses.
Support system improvements SOP standardization and process automation initiatives.
4. KPI Monitoring & Performance Review
Track and review SCM KPIs including:
Cost per unit / cost per kg
Billing accuracy & POD closure timelines
Inventory turnover & stock variance
Warehouse and logistics efficiency
Prepare MIS reports dashboards and presentations for SCM and finance leadership.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of FMCG supply chain finance and operations.
Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA (SD MM with FI integration).
Working knowledge of WMS systems.
Strong analytical reconciliation and audit skills.
Ability to translate operational data into financial insights.
Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills.
High attention to detail and control mindset.
Educational Qualification
Bachelors degree in Commerce / Finance / Supply Chain / Logistics / Operations.
Master/MBA - Preferred
Experience
35 years of experience in SCM finance logistics operations billing or warehouse
control within FMCG or similar high-volume industries.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Strong finance grounding with solid exposure to ground-level SCM operations.
Comfortable working between warehouses finance teams and ERP systems.
Detail-oriented control-focused and process-driven.
Experience in audit-ready environments with tight timelines.
