Senior Business Analyst (Data Governance)
Take ownership of high-impact data initiatives in a fast-paced hybrid insurance environment. What is in it for you:
Salaried: $60-65 per hour.
Incorporated Business Rate: $75-80 per hour.
10-month contract.
Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
In-office presence required from Tuesday to Thursday.
Remote work available on Mondays and Fridays.
Responsibilities:
Elicit document and prioritize data governance requirements including policies standards and metrics.
Define and implement data quality rules thresholds KPIs and remediation processes.
Support metadata management business glossary development and data lineage mapping.
Translate regulatory and internal policies into actionable controls and procedures.
Contribute to the design of operating models including RACI frameworks and governance workflows.
Facilitate stakeholder engagement sessions with data stewards engineers and product owners.
Map current and future state business processes to identify automation and standardization opportunities.
Maintain governance scorecards produce executive reports and support adoption of governance standards.
Collaborate with data governance engineers to ensure technical documentation and runbooks are complete.
What you will need to succeed:
Bachelors degree in business management finance computer science or a related field.
7 years of experience in business analysis with a focus on data governance.
Proven ability to elicit requirements map processes and manage cross-functional stakeholder input.
Deep understanding of data governance principles including policies standards stewardship and RACI models.
Proficient with data catalog lineage and data quality tools such as Informatica IDMC Microsoft Purview and Databricks Unity Catalog.
Familiarity with BI/reporting tools and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong communication and documentation skills with a focus on clarity structure and audit readiness.
Experience designing workflows implementing process improvements and supporting CI/CD-aware environments.
Demonstrated ability to interpret KPIs identify anomalies and generate actionable insights.
Understanding of basic programming languages (e.g. SQL and Python) is considered an asset.
