Job Summary

Yorba Linda Country Club is looking for a Sr. Staff Accountant. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service to the clubs managed by Troon.

Compensation: $75000 - $85000 BOE

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Reconciles and analyzes general ledger accounts inventory fixed assets and petty cash.
  • Manages A/P to include disbursements reconciliations and vendor relations.
  • Manages cottage rental program and all member related charges and disbursements.
  • Responsible for ARB accounting functions; deposits disbursements and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepares and files monthly business and tax returns.
  • Provides project analysis and analytic support to the accounting department.
  • Assists in the month-end close and yearly audit process.
  • Supervises Staff Accountant position.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Member Experience Related Key Points:
  1. Delivering Accurate Transparent and Timely Member Billing
    • Ensure monthly statements are correct easy to read and delivered on schedule.
    • Resolve billing questions quickly and courteously maintaining a member-first tone.
    • Prevent errors that could negatively impact member trust or satisfaction.
  2. Providing High-Touch Member Support
    • Serve as a warm professional point of contact for any financial-related inquiries.
    • Offer patient personalized explanations of charges club policies or account activity.
    • Demonstrate confidentiality discretion and respect for member privacy.
  3. Enhancing the Member Experience Through Operational Coordination
    • Work closely with F&B Golf Events Spa and other departments to ensure charges are properly coded and posted (e.g. dining tournaments lessons pro shop).
    • Prevent service disruptions by ensuring POS integrations run smoothly.
    • Support event billing for banquets weddings and tournaments with timely and accurate invoicing.
  4. Maintaining a Welcoming Hospitality-Focused Service Culture
    • Model hospitality valuesprofessionalism warmth and attentivenesseven in back-office communications.
    • Train frontline staff on proper handling of member charges signatures and adjustments.
    • Promote a culture where financial interactions feel seamless not transactional.
  5. Protecting Member Loyalty Through Issue Resolution
    • Resolve disputes or billing discrepancies promptly aiming for a positive outcome that preserves the members experience.
    • Offer proactive solutions and follow-up to ensure satisfaction.
    • Identify patterns in errors or complaints and implement process improvements.
  6. Supporting Member Engagement and Amenities
    • Ensure member accounts reflect accurate points credits minimums or loyalty programs.
    • Track special assessments capital contributions or seasonal memberships with care and clarity.
    • Coordinate with Membership/Marketing to support new-member onboarding including billing setup and orientation FAQs.
  7. Upholding Financial Integrity That Supports the Member Experience
    • Maintain strong internal controls over cash handling gratuities house charges and refunds.
    • Assist in budgeting and forecasting that support exceptional member amenities and service offerings.
    • Present financial information to leadership in a way that centers on sustaining member value.
  8. Communicating with Professionalism and Hospitality
    • Draft financial communications (e.g. billing notices policy updates year-end letters) using member-friendly language.
    • Ensure communications reinforce the clubs commitment to quality service and luxury standards.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience with Jonas software is desirable.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Excellent organization analytical and communication skills.
  • Thrives in a team environment.
  • Detail oriented and reliable.
