As a host you are responsible for managing the guest reception and seating process within the restaurant. You ensure a warm and professional welcome maintains efficient seating flow and support the front-of-house team in delivering outstanding guest experiences.
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Consistently offer professional friendly and engaging service
- Greet and welcome guests warmly and professionally upon arrival creating a positive first impression and setting the tone for their dining experience
- Manage guest reservations waitlists and seating assignments efficiently to optimize table turnover and minimize wait times
- Coordinate closely with front-of-house team including servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth guest flow
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station entrance area and restaurant to ensure an inviting environment
- Assist servers with food delivery clearing tables setting up tables and replenish items
- Assist with other front-of-house duties as assigned to ensure overall operational efficiency
- Follow hotel policies procedures and service standards
- Other duties as assigned
Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to:
- Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
- Occasional kneeling pushing pulling lifting
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders stairs and ramps
- Must be able to push pull and lift at least 25lbs
Qualifications :
Your experience and skills include:
- Previous food & beverage experience preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Able to work flexible hours weekends and holidays
