About the Opportunity
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of transportation and civil infrastructure maintenance and improvement projects in the Brunswick GA area. This role bridges office coordination and project execution working closely with senior leadership to ensure project objectives are met safely on time and within budget.
The ideal candidate is organized communicative and capable of supporting both field teams and office management functions across a dynamic portfolio of infrastructure contracts.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Project Manager with project planning scheduling and execution for roadway/transportation infrastructure maintenance and operations.
Assist with coordinating field crews subcontractors and internal teams to ensure alignment and timely completion of tasks.
Track and report project financials including budgets cost control and forecasting support.
Prepare project documentation performance reports and communication updates for internal and client stakeholders.
Facilitate coordination between office-based project planning and field operations with an expectation of being onsite regularly among crews.
Contribute to project improvement analyses including crew efficiency safety performance and quality standards.
Assist with client communication and support project reporting requirements to government agencies or contract partners as needed.
Provide operational support in compliance with applicable technical standards safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
15 years of related experience in civil infrastructure construction support project coordination or engineering support.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills (verbal written and interpersonal) across office field and client settings.
Ability to work collaboratively with field crews technical teams and office management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel Word Outlook) and comfortable learning project management or data reporting tools.
Willingness to be onsite regularly working alongside operational teams as project conditions require.
Preferred Experience
Coursework or degrees in Construction Management Engineering Technology Civil Engineering or related fields.
Familiarity with public works contracts or transportation maintenance practices.
Experience with data analysis schedule coordination or project reporting.
Exposure to field operations and understanding of crew workflows.
Work Environment & Expectations
This role requires a blend of office coordination and frequent onsite presence among field crews and project locations.
Engagement with diverse stakeholders including internal team members field personnel and external clients/government contacts.
Candidates must be comfortable adapting to changing environments supporting field operations and helping sustain project momentum.
