Summary:
The Clinical Manager Invasive Cardiology assures quality service delivery and compliant operations for Invasive Cardiology services including diagnostic catheterizations percutaneous coronary interventions peripheral/endovascular procedures and electrophysiology services. Coordinates the diagnostics testing area activities and leads the staff in daily operations. Oversees and manages growth and expansion of the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable to provide clinical leadership skills in a knowledgeable consistent and continuous manner. Promotes shared governance principles and practices and supports staff involvement in nursing practice councils and committees in conjunction with Manager. Promotes a culture of teamwork that balances individual initiative with team accomplishments.
- Responsible for daily operations of cardiac catheterization laboratories including but not limited to: scheduling of staff; triaging resources to assure timely quality care delivery; resolving equipment information systems and facility problems; responding to internal and external customer demands; and collaborating with other hospital departments to coordinate patient care.
- Oversees and manages the growth and expansion of the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
- Assures clinical quality of all procedures performed in the cath labs including but not limited to educating staff in current and new procedures and technology under the direction of the lab Administrative Director. Develops and institutes methods to monitor and improve clinical and operational quality output; completing functions for equipment maintenance.
- Assures patient care delivery by providing direct patient care and providing back-up for patient care as needed (i.e. call-outs difficult cases short-staffing and on-call staffing).
- Involved in functions such as: recruitment; hiring; coaching; payroll processing and administering disciplinary policies. Responsible for goal setting on-going measurement of goals administering the recognition program and all other human resources programs.
- Performs key functions in assuring the department has appropriate equipment and supplies including researching capital and operational equipment and making recommendations to Administrative Director and/or Medical Director about purchases.
- Participates in operational budget process; keeps records online items of responsibility; monitors and follows-up to resolve inaccuracies. Collaborates in the gathering and assessment of data to rectify and justify operational expenses and revenues.
- Participates in department division and Danbury Hospital operational strategy planning and development as it relates to the cath labs including working with other sections to develop plans to maximize operational efficiencies by developing growing and maintaining high quality cardiovascular services. Supports Danbury Hospital initiatives outside of the department including but not limited to campaigns for charitable organizations and health fairs.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

Education:
- Bachelors degree required
License/Certification:
Experience:
- Experience performing interventional cardiovascular procedures required. Minimum Experience: five years
- Basic computer skills (MS Windows); data entry and retrieval. RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) desired.

Salary Range: $52.03 - $96.62 Hourly commensurate with experience
