AVON PUBLIC SCHOOLSOFFICE OF THE SUPERINTENDENTTITLE:Director of Pupil ServicesQUALIFICATIONS: of a Masters Degree or of three (3) years of successful teaching least two (2) years Administrative/Supervisory certification as an Administrator of Special alternatives or additional qualifications as the Department of Education may find appropriate and TO:Superintendent of SchoolsJOB GOAL:To administer supervise and coordinate Guidance Services Special Education Health Services School Psychological Services related support services and ELL as well as to perform other related support services assigned by the Superintendent of RESPONSIBILITIES:AREA:SPECIAL supervises and coordinates all Special Education Services of the Avon Public responsibility for the full implementation of laws and regulations governing the delivery of Special Education in the adaptation of school policies to include the special needs of the various objectives and programs of Special Education to the informed of all the various aspects of legal requirements governing Special all records as required by related laws and the responsibility of compiling maintaining and filing all reports and records legally required and/or administratively requested relative to Special existing programs as ongoing responsibility and recommends changes deemed regularly with all Special Education staff to discuss mutual inservice training programs for staff members as related budgets in collaboration with the Business Office closely with the Superintendent in the preparation of related State for the transportation of Special Education a case-finding plan to identify potential cases of children needing student :PUPIL supervises and coordinates all Pupil Services of the Avon Public all records as required by related laws and the responsibility of compiling maintaining and filing all reports and records legally required and/or administratively requested relative to Pupil the various objectives and programs of Pupil Services to the School Committee the administration the staff and the public. informed of all the various aspects of legal requirements governing Pupil existing programs as ongoing responsibility and recommends changes deemed periodically with all Pupil Services staff to discuss mutual related Pupil Service budgets in collaboration with the Business AREA:SYSTEM-WIDE/CENTRAL in recruitment selection and recommendation for hiring of any new staff under his/her and administers district grant programs pertaining to the areas of to the development of the total school philosophy of Education of the Avon Public the responsibility of the development revision implementation and evaluation of district the responsibility of the development implementation and evaluation of district professional responsibility for his/her own professional growth and development; for keeping current with the literature new research findings and improved techniques; for attending appropriate professional the ordering and disbursement of budget items related to areas under his/her formal evaluations of all staff members under his/her supervision and recommends reappointment professional teacher status and develops and supervises system-wide and State testing such other tasks and assumes other responsibilities assigned by the OF EMPLOYMENT:Twelve-Month year - Salary and working conditions as established by the Superintendent under parameters as authorized by the School :Performance of this position will be evaluated by the Superintendent in accordance with the provisions of the School Committees adopted Administrators Evaluation Procedures.
