The Agency Youll Join:
The New York City Mayors Office is responsible for overseeing city services throughout the five boroughs coordinating public agencies and departments and managing public property. The administration is leading the fight in making the city more affordable reducing inequality improving public safety ensuring delivery of efficient and effective services and working to make New York Citys economy stronger. The Team Youll Work With:
The Mayors Press Office at City Hall is responsible for media monitoring responding to media inquiries preparing senior administration officials for media interviews and planning media events designed to communicate accurate timely information to the public.
The Problems Youll Solve:
The Deputy Press Secretary - Health and Human Services responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Interacting with top reporters covering City Hall as well as those covering a range of other agencies managing incoming inquiries including rapid responses and serving as a spokesperson for City Hall.
Overseeing media relations for agencies within their portfolio including ACS DSS HRA DFTA DOHMH and health and human services
Coordinating closely with the Press Secretary on all issues related to the mayors agenda on health care SNAP and expanding the social safety net
Writing reviewing and editing press releases media advisories briefing papers and other relevant materials
Putting together press events for the Mayor and various city agencies
Working to arrange interviews with senior administration officials including the Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services and staffing those interviews
Performing other duties as necessary
Salary
The City of New York Office of the Mayors compensation package includes a market-competitive salary equity for all full-time roles and exceptional benefits.
Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on candidate experience and expertise and other factors.

Qualifications :
1. Do you have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
2. Do you have an associate degree from an accredited college or university along with two (2) years of experience with administrative analytic coordinative supervisory or liaison responsibilities
3. Do you have a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a states Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization along with four (4) years of experience as described in question 2 above
4. Do you have a satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to that described in questions 1 2 and/or 3 above
