Position Summary
The Database Manager serves as the primary administrator and steward of the donor management system functions for the Advancement Office providing analysis and guidance to these operations as needed. Serves as the Blackbaud Raisers Edge database administrator.
Our Advancement Team includes the offices of Development Communications Alumni Relations and Special Events.
Key Responsibilities
Database Administration & Data Governance
Serve as primary administrator for Blackbaud Raisers Edge and Raisers Edge NXT
Maintain data integrity through audits queries data clean-up and ongoing research
Document maintain and ensure consistent adherence to established data entry standards
and procedures
Manage database security permissions and system configurations
Stay current on system updates and train users on best practices
Coordinate data enrichment services (NCOA deceased records email/phone appends)
Maintain accurate and up-to-date constituent records including biographical information
relationships affiliations and participation history
Reporting & Data Infrastructure
Build and maintain standard and ad-hoc reports queries mailing lists and dashboards
Produce recurring and time-sensitive Advancement reports
Generate lists for donor recognition events and the Annual Report
Support leadership board and committee reporting as needed
Gift Data Oversight & Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner with Gift Entry staff to ensure accurate gift coding and data quality
Resolve complex gift pledge and constituent record issues
Conduct routine audits and coordinate corrections
Collaborate with Finance on reconciliation and reporting accuracy
Systems Integration & Collaboration
Support data consistency across Advancement systems and institutional platforms
Provide database and data-structure input during discussions related to new systems or integrations impacting Advancement data
Identify and resolve data inconsistencies between systems
Prospect Research Support
Provide clean well-structured data and reporting infrastructure to support prospect
research and analytics
Implement database standards aligned with data strategy set by Prospect Research

Bachelors degree and/or equivalent experience in nonprofit development or database
operations
Direct experience with Blackbaud Raisers Edge and Raisers Edge NXT
Strong skills in queries reports imports global changes and configuration
High proficiency with Excel and Google Workspace
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across departments
Familiarity with Power Automate and Power BI preferred
