The Permits and Environmental Management team includes nearly 100 employees at all levels who contribute to key projects throughout their entire life cycle from the initial assessment of key constraints to the strategic development of regulatory approval processes as well as compliance management throughout construction and operations.

Our team works collaboratively on projects to achieve social acceptance and to manage our clients environmental and sustainability commitments.

Environmental impact assessment in the execution of major projects in the mining energy and industrial sectors has become an essential discipline and is now at the core of our clients and citizens concerns.

Our client is currently offering the opportunity to join a dynamic and experienced team that delivers a distinctive service in environmental and social impact assessment for a wide range of projects including energy and natural resources industrial and mining projects for major private and public clients.

This team is at the heart of some of the most ambitious projects in Quebec and Canada and values involvement collaboration and knowledge sharing.

We are seeking a dynamic individual to act as a Project Director in environmental and social impact assessment and environmental permitting.

The team is recognized for its strong momentum and a clear focus on career development offering diversified training aligned with individual interests and professional growth.

Senior professionals and engineers provide ongoing support to the development of junior team members.

The selected candidate will report to the Industrial Sector Environmental Impact Assessment Team Lead.

The position is available anywhere in Quebec with an assigned office in Quebec City Montreal Trois-Rivières Saguenay or Abitibi.

Significant flexibility for remote work is offered.

Your role within the team.

  • Lead and participate in the execution of environmental impact assessments and related studies within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Lead and participate in applications for environmental authorizations and permits.
  • Ensure compliance with project budgets and schedules.
  • Maintain effective and constructive client relationships within the scope of responsibilities.
  • Lead and participate in the preparation of service proposals including strategy work plans client meetings and budgets.
  • Contribute to departmental business development initiatives.
  • Act as a mentor to colleagues.

Profile sought.

  • Bachelors degree in an environment-related field. A masters degree is an asset.
  • Training in environmental engineering is an asset.
  • Ten years of relevant experience in the environmental field.
  • PMP certification or the ability to obtain the CAPM certification within six months is a condition of employment if not currently registered as a PMP.
  • Strong knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation.
  • Excellent writing analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Strong aptitude for teamwork and project management.
  • Excellent command of the French language both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in both French and English is an asset.

This position requires knowledge of English in addition to French as the role involves collaboration with Canadian regional or global leadership teams and colleagues located outside Quebec.
