Job Summary and Responsibilities

Provides the overall administrative leadership and direction for the graduate medical education (GME) graduate education continuing medical education (CME) and publications programs of the Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI). Partners with BNI residency and fellowship Program Directors and the SJHMC DIO to direct the administrative and operational activities of the BNI graduate medical education programs. Partners with BNI clinical and research leaders to develop and implement an annual conference and course plan which includes weekly Grand Rounds and hands-on surgical courses. Works with BNI CME course directors to ensure that courses are high quality financially successful and comply with all Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) requirements for Category 1 CME accreditation. Partners with BNI clinical and research leaders to develop and implement an annual plan for scholarly publications as well as oversees the BNI Neuro-Publications Department to ensure that the output is of high quality turnaround time for projects is acceptable and that staffing is both affordable and adequate to meet demand for services. Collaborates with BNI clinical and research leaders to facilitate strategic planning for BNI graduate medical education and graduate education programs to ensure that these programs are correctly aligned with BNI clinical and research priorities have adequate funding sources and are correctly positioned to attract high caliber applicants.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors Other and Minimum of five (5) years of experience in graduate medical education required
  • Masters Degree or a combination of education and/or additional job related experience in lieu of the degree and
  • Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience preferred
