Position Summary:Coordinates efforts for the Holocaust Survivor Program Virtual Senior Center platform and projects related to Holocaust education.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Implements ongoing outreach plans to schools and other community entities to expand Holocaust survivor participation in the Russian language community on the Virtual Senior Center
- Works with HSP sites and Program Directors as well as the coordinator for Northeast Home Care for continued VSC outreach efforts in local and other Russian-speaking communities within and outside of New York. .
- Assists with monitoring program operating budgets.
- Assists in recruitment orientation retention and scheduling of Russian-speaking volunteers to facilitate video-based classes within the Virtual Senior Center interface Trains volunteers in Person-Centered Trauma-Informed (PCTI) principles in working with the Russian-speaking Holocaust survivor community.
- Monitors and reports on volunteer facilitators class performance and VSC participant usage and overall satisfaction.
- Conducts outreach with educational arts and other institutions to expand Russian language offerings on the VSC using a PCTI approach
- Facilitates at least one class weekly on the Russian language VSC
- Troubleshoots technical issues with participants and facilitators.
- Makes in-person visits to clients homes throughout the NYC area as needed to assist with installation of equipment or to provide technical support
- Represents the organization at community meetings committees conferences educational seminars and inter-agency councils within the Russian-speaking community.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
- Adhere to organizations standards by completing annual mandatory trainings in a timely manner on topics including but not limited to Sexual Harassment Prevention Training IT
- Security Awareness Compliance OSHA HIPAA and any other training the organization may deem necessary in regards to regulatory compliance or good business practices.
- Supports organizations mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers.
- Adheres to the organizations policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance
Work Schedule: Monday 9-5 Tuesday 9-5 Wednesday 9-12 Thursday 9-5
Salary Ranges: $40000 - $45000 per year commensurate with experience.
Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree (B.A.) and a minimum of two years of related experience preferably in the field of aging
- Bilingual in Russian required
- Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients and the general public
- Must be computer literate with proficient skills in MS Office 2013. Experience managing data within a database required; willingness to learn and use social media required; proficiency in use of social media preferred
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to multi-task and work independently with a great attention to detail
Working Conditions/Physical Demand:
- Business office environment with phone and computer use.
- Must be able to attend meetings and other out-of-office functions by using public or private transportation.
