Human Resources (Primary Focus):
Assist with the full recruitment lifecycle: posting jobs screening resumes scheduling interviews and conducting reference checks.
Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires including preparation of documents and orientation coordination.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and files (both digital and physical).
Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
Support HR projects and initiatives such as performance reviews training sessions and employee engagement events.
Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs.
Ensure compliance with federal state and local employment laws and regulations.
Bookkeeping (Secondary Focus):
Process and verify HR-related invoices (e.g. recruitment ads training fees software subscriptions).
Assist in the preparation and processing of the semi-monthly/monthly payroll in collaboration with the finance department.
Reconcile HR department credit card statements and expense reports.
Maintain accurate records for HR budgets and expenditures.
Prepare basic journal entries related to payroll and HR expenses.
Support the finance team with data entry and general ledger coding for HR transactions.
Required: Minimum of 1 year of experience in an HR support role (e.g. HR Assistant Administrative Assistant) with demonstrated experience in basic bookkeeping or accounting tasks.
Associates or Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration Accounting Finance or a related field is strongly preferred. Candidates holding a (Bachelor of Commerce - HRM Option) are highly encouraged to apply.
Foundational understanding of bookkeeping principles and proficiency with numbers.
Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and payroll software (e.g. ADP Paychex Gusto) is a plus.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint); intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUPs Pivot Tables) are highly desirable.
