We are hiring a Structural Heart Nurse Specialist (SHNS) to a Hospital in Ireland.
Responsibilities
Act as the lead for the Structural Heart Programme providing internal leadership and serving as a key liaison for external referral centres and referring physicians.
Lead and participate in education initiatives for patients families and staff including the development of educational materials.
Contribute to patient safety monitoring and outcome surveillance for the programme.
Support and participate in research activities related to structural heart services.
Plan coordinate and manage regular multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings seminars and educational events related to the Structural Heart Programme.
Engage in and maintain continuing professional education specific to structural heart disease.
Maintain effective communication with senior clinical management nursing management ward teams consultant staff and clinical leadership to ensure safe efficient and effective delivery of care.
Develop and implement standardised patient care pathways for cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery patients during inpatient admission.
Ensure accurate timely and comprehensive documentation of patient assessments management plans and follow-up arrangements in hospital records.
Prepare and provide reports and statistical data relating to referrals waiting times clinical outcomes and patient safety indicators.
Identify and implement appropriate internal controls within the department and monitor compliance with established standards.
Support accreditation and quality assurance processes including international accreditation programmes.
Requirements
Registered General Nurse with current Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) registration in good standing.
Postgraduate qualification in Cardiology/Cardiovascular Nursing preferred or a demonstrated commitment to completing a relevant postgraduate programme.
Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Minimum of five years experience in Cardiology and/or Cath Lab nursing with demonstrated leadership and management experience.
Expert knowledge and clinical experience in cardiovascular disease management within an acute hospital setting.
Proven leadership teaching ability professional judgement critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a commitment to professional development.
Strong management and organisational skills with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated awareness of current developments and national strategies relevant to cardiovascular nursing practice.
High level of English language proficiency (spoken and written) with effective time management skills and attention to professional standards.
