Pentex Restaurant Group operates over 50 Taco Johns locations in eight states (ND SD MN MO IL WI IA and MT) with nearly 1200 employees (and growing). We are the leading franchisee of Taco Johns restaurants and we own and operate 2 HuHot Mongolian Grill restaurants. We are growing come and grow with us!

Job Summary:
The General Manager (GM) leads the operation of Taco Johns restaurant. As a GM youll have responsibility for the financial success of your restaurant as well as managing staffkeeping customers happy and adhering to health and safety mandates. The role has a strong hospitality element ensuring that the restaurant delivers high-quality food and drink and good customer service. Creating an uplifting and supportive environment in which a team is inspired to succeed is the primary role.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises restaurant crew Team Member Shift Manager and AGM positions.
Interviews hires and trains new crew members.
Oversees the daily workflow of all crew members.
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Lead and motivate team members by providing them with the tools training and follow-up necessary to achieve maximum performance.
Train and develop successful team members for the restaurant while providing direction and guidance to ensure a positive and motivating work environment is established and maintained.
Ensure ongoing coaching for improvement and the use of constructive discipline and proper documentation of employee performance.
Ensure problem resolution is available on all shifts and is utilized when appropriate and build trusting relationships.
Escalates applicable employee relations matters to HR.
Implement an ongoing recognition culture in the restaurant.
Meet the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction and selling efforts.
Ensure that the restaurant meets company guest standards and follow up on guest complaints in a timely manner.
Maximizing positive customer experiences sales and profits.
Manage all restaurant financial controllables using the restaurant plan. Systems include but are not limited to the use of automated tracking systems managing employee labor overtime food supplies within company standards cash management and deposits per company standards.
Maintain and protect all company assets.
Develops food safety behaviors and standards.
Maintain operational updates and utilize resources.
Follow proper opening closing safety and security procedures and maintain cleanliness and preventive maintenance programs.
Recognize business generators and traffic patterns and plan shifts accordingly.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Valid Drivers License.
Ability to multitask and be self-motivated.
Solid financial analysis skills.
Drive and determination.
Great attitude and customer-oriented personality.
Strong talent and performance management skills.
Understands and has a passion for the intricacies of working with food and beverage
Previous success with restaurant systems and tools and leading and supervising.
Possesses POS and MS Office computer skills.
SERV Safe certified preferred but not required. If not already certified the company will provide SERV Safe training.

Education and Experience:

Fast Food General Management Experience 1 year (required) and the desire to move your career to the next level.
Traditional Fast Food 2 years (required).
Drive Thru Experience 3 years (required)

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit talk and hear. The employee is required to stand walk and use their hands to operate a standard computer keyboard. Vision requirements include close vision distance vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Requires long periods of standing on hard surfaces occasionally in warm temperatures. There is also likely to be extensive lifting of supplies/materials up to 50 lbs. and moderate to loud noise. The use of hands and arms to reach for grasp and manipulate objects is required.
