PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Assist the administration in order that the latter may devote maximum attention to administering an effective instructional program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency business school and/or office experience.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of standard office practices and procedures equipment and secretarial techniques.
- Experience working directly with individuals and families from diverse racial ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Experience working with diverse learning needs and with children that may benefit from alternative learning models is preferred.
- Familiarity with racial equity and inclusion frameworks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform secretarial and clerical duties pertaining to the administrative functions of the school office.
- Correspondence for assistant principal
- Daily bulletin for teachers staff and students
- Various school memos announcements reports forms maintenance requests mailings and teachers handbook
- Yearly locker update - maintain locks and lockers throughout school year
- Various assignments from the principal or other staff members
- Computer input of all disciplinary referrals and action taken
- Assist with address/telephone/emergency contact corrections at the beginning of the school year.
- Answer the telephone transfer calls and take messages.
- Greet and assist students teachers and visitors who enter the administrative office.
- Mail the interim reports and other mass mailings.
- Organize school forms and maintain files for office and assistant principal.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Administration.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Light work lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
Stand walk use hands reach with hands and arms stoop kneel or crouch.
Regular contact with staff members and administrators is required.
Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
