POSITION SUMMARY

USA Lacrosse is looking for an unpaid/for credit intern to work with our Marketing team. The Intern Social Media will work closely with the social media team to grow USA Lacrosses presence across all social media channels and support marketing and content initiatives.

If you are a driven and enthusiastic student aspiring to enter the sports marketing design industry this could be a great opportunity for you. This internship will allow you to learn about working in a fast-paced collaborative environment interfacing with multiple departments while gaining hands-on experience and learning essential social media practices for your professional growth and future career.

A Typical Day Looks Like

  • Assists with social content ideation creation and copywriting on all social platforms (Facebook X Instagram LinkedIn TikTok and YouTube).
  • Assists with real time coverage during local events.
  • Assists with engagement across all social platforms to help drive audience growth.
  • Researches trends and topics in the sports and entertainment industry to create content that fits within our strategy and offer recommendations.
  • Supports the Marketing & Communications team with campaign ideation and execution website content migration and data asset management platform content categorizing.

What Will Be Expected of You

  • You will report to work each day you are scheduled on time presenting yourself in a professional manner though your appearance and interactions with others.
  • You are empowered to ask questions to help learn and understand not only what you are doing but why you are doing It.
  • You will be asked to complete a final report about your internship experience to Include:
  • What did you learn about USA Lacrosse.
  • What did you learn about your field of study and the responsibilities of the department you worked in.
  • Explain your roles and responsibilities and talk about any project(s) you did.
  • Reflect on skills and work habits you learn that you will take with you as you start your career.

IsThis You

  • Current student pursuing a Bachelors degree preferably in communications marketing or related field. Eligibility to earn college credit for internship a plus.
  • Ability to dedicate 15-30 hours per week from May to August 2026. This includes the ability to work onsite at USA Lacrosses headquarters office in Sparks MD.
  • Familiaritywith sports lacrosse a plus with the desire to learn and appreciate the sport so you can capture images to tell a story.
  • Must have a demonstrated understanding of social media platforms their unique audiences and how to use them to maximize engagement efforts.
  • Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for social media and marketing.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced dynamic cross-functional team working toward a common goal.
  • Flexibility with your work schedule including the ability to work nights and weekends based on event needs.
  • Ability to align with USA Lacrosses Mission Vision and Values to support our initiatives and organizational goals.

Expected Hours of Work

This position is generally expected to work part-time (15 to 30 hours per week) during the work week (Monday through Friday) between the hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm with occasional work on nights and/or weekends based on event and business needs. This is a hybrid position and works from the headquarters office in Sparks MD three (3) days a week with the flexibility to work from home two (2) days a week.
