Seeking a process driven and detail-oriented Engineering Technician for System Planning Projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in the electrical utility industry.
This position is responsible for electric system planning under the direction of the System Planning Engineer.
This position is located at our office in Boerne TX and may require some occasional travel to project sites.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The principal duties and responsibilities of the Engineering Technician- System Planning consistof but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare system planning studies including load forecasts determining improvements projects cost estimates map updates and planning report production.
- Complete various planning analysis and studies including: new service supply plans short circuit and system coordination arc flash motor start capacitor placement outage reports DESR impact study and load forecasts.
- Create update and maintain Client electric system maps in AutoCAD or GIS software.
- Create update and maintain electric system models in Milsoft or Cyme.
- Prepare technical reports including analysis summaries and system maps.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associates Degree preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- 0-2 years experience in the Electric Utility Industry
SKILLS:
- Strong (effective) written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional computer skills with emphasis on AutoCAD ArcGIS spreadsheet and word processing applications.
- Strong skills of time management organizational and multi-tasking.
PHYSICAL:
- This position requires the ability to listen and hear good eyesight sitting standing walking and use of hands and arms.
