The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife is seeking a talented Business Data Analytics Specialist to join our Division of Licensing and this role you will take the lead in overseeing and maintaining the Departments deer and moose lottery database systeman essential component of supporting safe responsible and enjoyable outdoor recreation opportunities for all.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: The primary focus of this position is to oversee and maintain the deer and moose lottery databases. This will include learning the intricate details of the deer and moose lottery databases. This position will collaborate with MaineIT to resolve system issues and implement enhancements based on management directives or legislative changes. This role also includes responsibility for managing or assisting with data collection data entry and the preparation of reports for data related requests. This position will also be required to become familiar with the Departments licensing and registration system MOSES. Work is performed under limited supervision.

Duties will include:

  • Learn and maintain expertise in deer and moose lottery databases and permit systems.
  • Assist with updates testing and validation of the permit purchase and lottery application processes.
  • Monitor system performance and key dates for lottery drawings and permit sales.
  • Generate reports and provide data exports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze agency operations user needs and service delivery to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to increase operational efficiency and enhance customer experience.
  • Support project management tasks including collecting data maintaining schedules and monitoring budgets and resources.
  • Recommend and implement changes to agency operations provider services internal policies and organizational structures to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS: A six (6) year combination of education training and/or professional experience in project management systems analysis business analysis program specialty or related field.

Preferences will be given to candidates with experience with database management and knowledge of relational database design.
