About the Team:

Gusto Retirement helps small businesses offer cost-effective easy-to-use retirement solutions so more people can build toward a secure retirement. Were looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead growth initiatives across our Retirement product driving adoption and engagement end-to-end. Youll set strategy and priorities run experiments and ship improvements from ideation through execution to accelerate growth across key funnels (employer setup employee enrollment and ongoing contributions). Youll also explore new product opportunities/JTBD that expand how we serve SMBs and unlock new avenues for growth

Heres what youll do day-to-day:

  • Ownership: Lead growth initiatives across Gusto Retirement owning key funnels and levers that increase adoption engagement and retention for SMBs and their employees.
  • North Star: Set a long-term growth vision and strategy. Define the biggest problems to solve where we can win and the roadmap of bets to get there.
  • Explore new opportunities: Identify new product opportunities/JTBD (new surfaces features or offerings) that unlock step-function growth and expand who we serve.
  • Collaborate and influence: Partner closely with Engineering Design Data Ops/Compliance Legal Marketing Finance and more to align on strategy make smart tradeoffs and deliver results.
  • Measurement: Define KPIs baselines and instrumentation; run rigorous experiments and reviews to ensure were improving customer outcomes and business health.
  • Make it happen: Be the pace setter. Drive execution with urgency and high standards unblocking the team however needed. Use AI as a co-builder to move faster from insight iteration durable customer-loved solutions.

Heres what were looking for:

  • 8 years of product management experience in B2B SaaS or the Fintech/Regtech space
  • Experience building and scaling products in high growth startups and highly regulated domains
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business problems into clear concise product requirements.
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Curiosity and a passion for fintech and financial products
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; track record of using customer insights and data to establish clear product goals and priorities
  • Strategic platform thinker with the ability to balance the big picture while diving deep into details and making quick decisions.
  • Bachelors degree in computer science engineering or a related field (preferred).

Our cash compensation amount for this role is $179000/yr to $224000/yr in Denver & most major metro locations and $210000/yr to $263000/yr for San Francisco Seattle & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver San Francisco and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles Gustos subsidiary whose physical office is in Scottsdale.

Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.

When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office a secure reliable and consistent internet connection is required. This includes non-office days for hybrid employees.
