Position Overview

The Senior Electronics Technician (ACLS) is a senior field technical lead responsible for coordinating and executing site surveys site preparation system installation system cutover and legacy system decommissioning in collaboration with the customer. This role supports the deployment and sustainment of advanced communication and electronic systems ensuring installations meet technical safety and performance requirements.

The position requires advanced troubleshooting expertise independent validation of installations and strong customer-facing skills. The Senior Electronics Technician provides leadership to field teams and ensures work is completed accurately safely and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute:

    • Site surveys

    • Site preparation activities

    • System installations

    • System cutovers

    • Legacy system decommissioning

  • Perform independent testing to validate power grounding and cabling installations

  • Ensure compliance with equipment specifications and site requirements

  • Install and configure mobile and fixed-base radio systems including:

    • Antennas

    • Transceivers

    • Amplifiers

    • Power supplies

  • Integrate radio and communication systems with vehicle electronics control systems or IT/network infrastructure

  • Ensure reliable voice and data transmission performance

  • Conduct testing calibration and signal verification using tools such as:

    • SWR meters

    • Wattmeters

    • Signal generators

  • Diagnose and resolve RF signal and equipment performance issues

  • Document installation configuration and test results

  • Serve as the primary on-site technical interface with customers

  • Lead and supervise field technicians ensuring quality safety and schedule adherence

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D. 16 years in lieu of degree
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a public trust clearance
  • Senior-level experience in electronics RF communications or radio system field installation

  • Experience installing and integrating mobile and fixed-base communication systems

  • Strong understanding of RF principles antenna systems and signal performance

  • Experience using RF testing and calibration equipment

  • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings schematics and wiring diagrams

  • Experience validating power grounding and structured cabling installations

  • Strong leadership and team supervision experience

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting aviation transportation or mission-critical communication systems

  • Experience with system cutover and legacy system decommissioning

  • Familiarity with multi-site field deployment programs

  • Knowledge of network integration for voice and data communication systems

Target Salary Range

$112000 - $179000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position the individuals experience education knowledge skills and competencies as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position employees may be eligible for overtime shift differential and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
